A bit of history: The girl standing in the first picture is Margaret
Johnson. She came to Norcatur, Kansas from Shetland Island, Scotland in
1872. I'm sorry I don't know the name of the dog, but it came with the
family from Scotland. This picture was taken on their homestead the year
they emigrated.
The little girl in the rocking chair is Clara Bechtold. She is the daughter of German immigrants and their homestead bordered the Johnson's place. The dog in this picture is the puppy of the dog in the first picture; but again, Grandma put the history of the dog without including its name.
